A service is a planned health check for your car. We replace the parts that wear out on a schedule — oil, filters and fluids — and inspect everything else for early signs of trouble, so small problems are caught before they leave you stranded or turn into an expensive repair.
A service is not the same as an MOT: the MOT is a legal roadworthiness test, while a service keeps the car running well and protects its value. Most cars benefit from both each year.
Exactly what we check and replace depends on whether you book an interim or a full service, but a service with us typically covers:
Fresh engine oil to the right grade and a new oil filter.
Coolant, brake fluid, screen wash and power steering.
Pads, discs and lines checked for wear and safe operation.
Tread depth, pressures and condition on all four.
Battery health and the charging system tested.
Everything that keeps you visible and legal.
Checked for play, wear and knocks.
A proper drive to confirm it all works as it should.
An interim service (around every 6 months or 6,000 miles) is a lighter check ideal for high-mileage drivers. A full service (around every 12 months or 12,000 miles) is more thorough and replaces more wear items. Not sure which you need? Tell us your mileage and we’ll point you to the right one — never the dearer one for the sake of it.
No. Thanks to the Block Exemption Regulation, an independent garage can service a car still under manufacturer warranty without voiding it, as long as we use the correct-quality parts and stamp the book — which we do. You don’t have to use a main dealer.
Due an MOT as well? Book your MOT in London at the same time and we’ll sort both in one visit.
Send your details and we’ll call you back to confirm a time that suits you, usually within the hour during opening times. Prefer to talk now? Call 020 7407 2403.
As a rule of thumb, a full service every 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first — but always follow your car’s handbook, as some makes have longer or variable intervals.
It depends on your car and whether you need an interim or full service. We give you a clear fixed price before any work starts — no surprises.
An interim service is usually a couple of hours; a full service often takes most of the day. We’ll tell you if you can wait or if it’s easier to drop the car off.
They’re different things — the MOT is the legal test, the service keeps the car healthy. Booking them together saves you a second trip and often catches MOT problems before they fail you.
